Wellness & Empowerment @ The Byrd Approach

  • The conversation within

  • Organizing our fields

  • Releasing what is no longer useful

  • Moving into wholeness

Dis-ease, and disempowerment arrives because we’re energetically not HERE/NOW, in our body and connected to the planet. The conversation lines are unplugged, energy circuits are disconnected and the flow of energy--mental, emotional, psychic, spiritual energy is not being transmitted through our chakra system to the energy meridians in our chemical body. And there’s such a backlog of unheard, unhealed internal conversation that keeps redialing, clogging the system, overwhelm arrives and it seems useful to pull away even further.

We consider this disabling cycle normal because it is often the norm, and we don’t know how to power up. It is actually a fairly simple and profoundly healing experience to intentionally reconnect with the life force, fullness and vitality that shows up when we plug back in. There are tools and practices that work 100% of the time, if we use them. Coherence happens, possibilities unfold and transformation begins.

I quit a twelve-year smoking habit after just three sessions with her. And that was just the first time she showed me how to save myself. Long story short, I owe this woman my life--she's taught me not only how to breathe, but how to be my genuine self, and she showed me the path to personal redemption at the tender age of 54.

The Byrd Approach? Yeah, baby!

All of these symptoms of energy mismanagement are seeking a deeper conversation with the fullness of our Being and respond well to energy based therapies:

  • Stress

  • Chronic pain, fatigue

  • Chronic disease

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Hypersensitivity

  • ADHD

  • Sexual dysfunction

Tools for cultivating this conversation of wholeness are drawn from the practices of Energy Medicine and Energy Psychology.

Energy Medicine is an ancient healing art found in most indigenous cultures and is based on the understanding that any physical, mental, or behavioral problem has a counterpart in the body's energies, and can be treated at that level. It is the science and art of optimizing your energies to help your body, mind and spirit function at their best.

Every conceivable health problem, psychological challenge, or dysfunctional habit can be improved, if not overcome, by intentionally shifting the energies in the body and subtle energy fields. In the process, you become more consciously and intimately involved in the deepest workings of your body, mind and heart; a journey that extends to your soul.

Subtle Energy Table Work may include breathwork, energy healing, tissue release, trigger point massage, subtle energy body integration, chakra balancing, sound healing, energy meditations, guided imagery & Tantric or Taoist energy practices.

Energy Psychology is a new branch of therapy which incorporates the human subtle energy system, consisting of the acupuncture meridians, the chakra system, and the 5-layered human bio-field. It recognizes that these energetic systems, in part, form the foundational matrix underlying human thought, emotions and behavior.

Process, or Couch Work
may include depth, gestalt or East/West transpersonal psychology, dream work, energy field integration, hypnotic regression, sub-personality work, skill building, various meditations & journal work.

I met Cherie at a time of confusion and frustration. Cherie equipped me with tools that enabled me to focus my energies in the right direction. She also instilled confidence of ‘me in myself’ that enabled me to live better with myself and be more accepting and forgiving.

I would leave her office feeling I understand more of what’s going around me and within me.

Her confidence, skills and approach are so refreshing and exciting, I would often, and still do, talk to her in my head when a little lost – sometimes only to find the answers within me with her guidance.

She is creative, cheerful and delightful to be around. No matter what mood you walk into her office with, she can turn you around to see a whole different perspective you may have not considered.

A new path will always unfold at your feet with her guidance.

Human beings are incredibly creative, and we give ourselves very little credit for it. Yet, even as a child I knew that if I woke up not wanting to go to school I could make myself sick before I even got out of bed. I was a master of instant sore throats and slight fevers.

After my glands were fondled, throat examined, forehead felt and I was ordered to stay abed, I’d lie back and inwardly smile. When the school bus was gone and I’d eaten the usual sickbed breakfast of poached egg on toast, I’d return to being perfectly well and lie back feeling deeply grateful for a whole day to be with myself. I thought everyone knew how to do this.

A very effective way to become conscious of being is simply to take the focus of your attention away from thinking and direct it to the body, where Being can be felt as invisible energy fields that give life to what you perceive as the physical body.

Eckhart Tolle

I was born attuned to energy, mine, other’s and the planet’s, so I had always known that it was I who made myself sick and I made myself well, though not always intentionally. I knew sickness and wellness had to do with some kind of energetic communication. There have been times when it took a while for me to hear the conversation that was going on somewhere between my body and my soul, mostly because I had not been listening.

I was a very sensitive kid and it didn’t always feel safe to be in my body, so like many kids I’d “pull out”. My mental body went floating over my head, my emotional body would go hide. Intuition would shut down, and grounding cords were yanked. I’d disconnect the conversation within my being in an attempt to not experience the discomfort in my world. This is truly a state of dis-ease.

What I have discovered over decades of healing and empowerment work is that MOST people are walking around as adults stuck in a similar pattern of disconnect and they consider it normal. They’ve acclimated to it. Yet deep down they know that something is amiss, life is mediocre, overwhelming or a struggle. They’re not as sharp as they’d like, and rarely experience their feelings directly as they happen. Inspiration seems to flow randomly, and how is it the doc says I have this malady when I didn’t even know anything was going on? Why is it that I feel so disconnected from other people? From my joy? From my self?

I have had many healing sessions from Cherie and she is not an ordinary bodyworker as she brings to the session a vast array of qualities that are part of her profound training as a healer and spiritual being.

The last time I received a session, my dear brother had passed and she held such a safe space for me that I could both receive a healing and cry my heart out. ..Cherie can hold you in so many different levels: the physical, emotional and spiritual, she has so many gifts to offer.
